This and That

Great New Cartoonist: Semi-Rad
I just found about a very funny web cartoonist, many of whose works are charts and graphs. Appeals to the MIT in me. Semi-Rad. Sign up for his weekly newsletter!

RIP E. Drake Lundell

My boss, my mentor, my friend, one of the few men I have ever known who was, truly, in every way, larger than life: E. Drake Lundell died on Tuesday Feb. 16, 2021 at age 78. I am not going to attempt a full obit; I will point at any obit posted.

Attention Firesign Fans
Philip “Rocky Rococco” Proctor has a wonderful PDF newsletter, Planet Proctor. It regularly includes items like this: “People who wonder whether the glass is half empty or half full are missing the point. The glass is refillable.” ~ Phil’s Phunny Phacts.

Women Know Things
Thank you Rae for pointing me at Fred Klett’s standup routine, Women Know Things. I haven’t heard him before, but I’d say he’s talented, Jerry Seinfeld talented

Random Acts of Kindness
I literally didn’t get the memo. Last week was Random Acts of Kindness Week. Yes, you missed it too; don’t let that discourage you from committing RAK as we insiders refer to them.

Deleted GHD Scene
Thank you Dave Sims! Groundhog Day deleted scene: Phil the Pool Hustler.

Another Amazing Newspaper Graphic
The New York Times had a front-page covid graphic on Sunday Feb. 21 which I find amazing and impressive. YMMV; some people in my journalist chat group think it is terrible. My admiration for the Times graphics department continues to grow.
