Behind Every Great Man
I often heard the adage, “Behind every great man, there’s a woman.” I prefer the modern variant, “Behind every great man, there’s a great woman.” Can’t find the source of the quotation, but loved another variant I found: “Behind every successful woman is a tribe of other successful women, who have her back.”

International Women’s Day
March 8 was International Women’s Day, My daughter Marlow says it was celebrated quite visibly in The Netherlands and China when she lived in those countries. In Afghanistan it’s a legal holiday. U.S. antipathy probably stems from its inception as a Communist holiday. Next year: yellow mimosas for my strong, intelligent women.
