Whaling Song Memes
The news of a burst of Whaling Songs on TikTok may have crossed your eye. I admit it; I love the New Christy Minstrels’ Deep Blue Sea because I used it as a stereo test (lots of left speaker/right speaker). But that’s the extent of my interest. So, imagine my surprise when I was listening back nearly a half-century to the National Lampoon Radio Hour to discover that they performed a skit about a low-rent promoter with a group that sings whaling songs. Talk about prescient!

What Darwin Really Meant
Dr. James Doty: “Charles Darwin… more accurately believed in ‘survival of the kindest,’ not survival of the fittest.” Yet again, a boiled-down description of complicated scientific work has not only failed us, but lead us as a world and society into false and negative beliefs.

Great Amazon Doc: I Am
Thank you Barry Schneider. I Am is an amazing documentary and voyage of discovery; I learned something new about twice a minute for the whole length of this witty and well-produced video document. Thanks to Dr. Doty, I knew the heart sends more information out than it takes in, but did not know that it emits a strong electro-magnetic field that can affect people near you, even if you aren’t touching them. If you’re happy, it makes them happy. Watch this first!
