By Paul E. Schindler, Jr.
I had some light,
Wanted to mingle it with yours.
I thought it was your height that attracted me.
Now I know it was your light.
I thought it was my charm that attracted you.
Now I know it was my light.
I didn’t know I had the light;
I am so glad you were ready to see it,
Willing to see it,
Able to see it.
Shouldn’t have been a surprise.
I have been told since age 5:
I light up a room when I walk into it.
But I never knew it was attractive.
