By Paul E. Schindler, Jr.
Are you perfect?
No.
I know that.
Still, I would put you
on a pedestal,
except
you said it would
make you unhappy.
So I don’t.
But you are good.
You know that.
Honest, faithful, independent and mature.
Loving and lovable.
Kind and accepting of kindness.
Happy and able to accept happiness.
Pedestal?
No.
Place of honor in my heart?
Yes.
Could Ariana Reines be right?
“You are
absolutely,
maddeningly,
irrevocably
perfect.”
Could the Reklaws be right?
“Whoever said nobody's perfect
Must've never met you.”
Poem: Perfect? No. Maybe.
